The task at hand
The company approached us with a request to transition from fragmented, manual processes to a comprehensive digital management system. The lack of CRM and a unified platform made it difficult to control inventory, production, and quality. These are three critical areas for the stable growth of drone production.
What strategy was chosen?
We chose to implement MRP II (Manufacturing Resource Planning) to ensure consistency, control, and further scaling of production. This approach covers the complete planning of a manufacturing enterprise's resources.
This solution enabled the automation of material and production stage accounting, and the synchronization of inventory, supply, production schedules, and quality control in a single digital environment. MRP II within Odoo was a logical step towards a transparent management model that supports both daily operations and strategic decisions.
Step-by-step implementation plan
The project implementation began with the areas that were most critical for production — inventory accounting and control of operations at the shop floor level. From the outset, our goal was not simply to automate individual processes, but to build a comprehensive business management system. The steps for implementing and deploying Odoo modules are outlined below.
What did we do?

Shop Floor та Inventory
The launch of the Shop Floor and Inventory modules enabled the transition from manual accounting to digital tracking of all warehouse operations — from issuing components to production to real-time inventory control and tracking defects on individual sensors.

Introduction of serial numbers and barcodes
We set up end-to-end product tracking using serial numbers and barcodes. This solution covered all stages and enabled the identification of each product.

Manufacturing та Employee Planning
The integration of modules ensured efficient planning of employee workload in production.

Accounting
We implemented financial accounting with key operational modules, namely procurement, production, and sales. Now, accounting transactions are generated automatically based on real events in the system.

This functionality provides the company with a powerful diagnostic tool for improving quality control. The team can now clearly identify and track who operated, which batch a component came from, and at what stage an error or deviation occurred.
The ability to track the fate of each product during field trials provides the company with valuable data for improving both the product and production processes.

For a team, the optimal distribution of workload is an important factor for stable performance.
With this solution, we were able to:
- balance the workload between employees, and avoid overload;
- ensure uniform use of resources and minimize downtime in the production process;
- consistently meet production deadlines, even during peak loads.
This step transformed daily team management from manual to strategic — with forecasts, priorities, and clear roles for each participant in the process.
Accounting
Financial accounting is no longer a separate process, but a direct reflection of operational activities.
Advantages of module integration:

This solution made it possible not only to record performance results, but also to make informed management decisions based on financial data.
The company also abandoned the outdated 1C system, which did not ensure transparency, data relevance, and integration with production processes.

Due to the implementation of the Odoo ERP system, the drone manufacturing company has made a qualitative leap in its development. The team has completely switched from manual control to a transparent, structured system for managing all processes.
